InterActive celebrates Earth Day
This year marks the 46th anniversary of Earth Day, which has been celebrated annually on 22 April since 1970.
Take a look at some of InterActive’s green initiatives for #EarthDay2016!
Earth Day student submissions
We asked our students and alumni to tell us how they are going green in their communities. Here are some of our favourite submissions:
Serving as this year’s Earth Day student ambassador, Sonam is an activist for animal welfare, wildlife preservation, and equal opportunity education. Some of her most recent accomplishments include saving over 150 stray cats, volunteering at a children’s school in Kenya, and raising awareness for The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a rescue and rehabilitation operation for orphaned elephants.
Hati is a community development worker in Guinea-Bissau. He has worked diligently to fight the deforestation crisis in his home country with the support of local women, via the production of firewood-saving cooking stoves.
In 2014, Liz started a mountain clean-up project in the French Alps. Each spring, she works with volunteers to collect rubbish discarded on the slopes of popular ski resorts. Liz hopes that by hosting this annual event in conjunction with local businesses, she will be able to raise global awareness about the negative impact litter has on our natural resources.

InterActive visits local language school
InterActive staff visited a children’s language school in Prague, Czech Republic this April to host a series of fun Earth Day activities. Students took part in an outdoor scavenger hunt, made clay models of the Earth, planted seeds, and learned about recycling, water conservation, and why it’s important to protect our planet!
Earth Day launch of the Eco-entrepreneur Scholarship
This year, we launched our first ever Eco-entrepreneur Scholarship.
InterActive will award one deserving candidate full tuition to our Global MBA degree programme, offered in cooperation with London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) and the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO (UTIU).
The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant with the most innovative, eco-friendly business plan. Your proposal should be presented on one full A4 page, detailing how your entrepreneurial venture will have a positive impact on the environment.
