Interview with InterActive student Nonhlanhla Mtshali, South Africa.
InterActive student Nonhlanhla Mtshali is currently studying towards a BSc in Business Management degree, accredited by the UK's University of Wolverhampton. We caught up with Nonhlanhla earlier this week to find out more about her online study experience thus far.
Thanks for taking the time to speak with us Nonhlanhla. Could you tell us a bit about your background, and the reasons why you are studying for your bachelor’s degree?
I have worked in finance for the Treasury for about nine years now, and I hope that studying will improve my knowledge of the field, and improve my chances of getting a promotion.
How do you feel about the level of support you’ve received from InterActive during your studies so far?
The support is great! I found the discussion forums very helpful in particular.
Would you say you find it easy to study from home? Could you tell us about some of the advantages of an online study programme?
Studying from home is not easy, it requires a lot of discipline. But on the other hand, the advantages of studying online are that you can access the lectures and other materials which allow you to gain an understanding of the work at any time of the day. You don’t have to be in any particular physical place in order to study, which is obviously a big benefit.
Do you have any study tips for other students who are studying online right now?
It sounds simple, but it’s easier said than done: be disciplined and manage your time well.
And what do you hope to achieve once you complete your studies?
I’m hoping to go on to study for the CFA as well. I hope that these new qualifications will help enable me to achieve the success I seek in my career.
Do you have a final message for anyone thinking about studying for a degree online?
Go for it!
