InterActive student Cathal Fahey, who studied the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) online ACCA tuition, won the award for Distance Learning Student of the Year at this year’s prestigious PQ Magazine Awards in February.
The PQ Magazine Awards is an annual awards ceremony that recognises the best institutions, teachers, students and learning platforms in the professional accountancy industry. At this year's event, Interactive student Cathal Fahey was honoured after receiving the 4th highest score worldwide in his ACCA P1 exam at the end of 2010. Fahey’s outstanding result is even more notable considering that a record number of 205,000 students sat their exams at the same time during that exam period.
About his experience of studying LSBF’s online ACCA programme through InterActive, Fahey said:
"I found the online platform ideal and exactly what I was looking for. I tend to work long hours and being afforded the ability to study at times that suited was very important to me. I found the lectures clear and concise. The volume was very manageable and knowing I could go back and re-watch lectures gave me great peace of mind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone."
Two of LSBF’s faculty members were also honoured at this year’s award ceremony. ACCA Lecturer Francis Braganza, who was awarded National Lecturer of the Year in 2004 by PQ Magazine and received nominations for Lecturer of the Year in 2005 and 2007, received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work and invaluable experience teaching Financial Reporting worldwide for over 20 years. LSBF CIMA tutor and director Peter Stewart, who has been teaching Financial Reporting for more than 20 years, was awarded the Accountancy Personality of the Year.
