To begin with, you will develop the skills necessary for interdisciplinary study to better understand the relationships between crime and society. It includes foundation learning on the criminal justice system and English legal system, as well as ethical aspects. The following modules introduce you to practical applications of the initial topics studied, including policing and police powers, and civil liberties and human rights.

The final set of modules examine matters regarding the historical development of the youth justice system, the escalation of cybercrime, latest thinking in crime prevention, and the law of evidence. The final module of the degree is in preparation of an assessment in which you will have the chance to specialise in an area of the programme that most interests you. Tutor support will be provided, giving you the best opportunity to showcase your understanding of your specialised area to future employers.
